What is an encapsulation sports bra?
An encapsulation sports bra supports each breast separately in its own moulded cup, rather than flattening both against the chest the way a compression bra does. The Battle Bra does this with an underwire and moulded cups, so you get defined separation and a natural shape. For C cup and above, encapsulation holds better than compression alone, which is why the Battle Bra is built this way.
Is the Battle Bra good for bigger busts?
Yes, it is designed for them. The Battle Bra comes in 35 sizes, from a 30C up to a 38G (UK), which is 38I in US sizing, and it is sized by cup and underband rather than a vague S-M-L. The underwire, moulded cups and Overband® give the kind of 360-degree hold that a pull-on compression bra cannot match above a C cup. If your size sits outside this range, the Solidarity High-Impact Sports Bra runs to a HH cup.
What size should I order, and how do I measure?
You need two measurements: your underband (snug, directly under the bust) and your cup (loosely around the fullest part). Take both in inches, then check them against the size guide, or use the size calculator on this page. If the tape gives you a number that feels off, book a free online fitting and a fitter will talk you through it. The fittings are free and unlimited.
I already wear a Solidarity bra. Will I be the same size in the Battle Bra?
Not always. The Battle Bra uses a slightly firmer fabric than the Solidarity, so the fit runs differently. If your Solidarity is already as snug as you like, you may want to size up in the band and down in the cup for the Battle Bra. When in doubt, a free online fitting will confirm it before you buy.
Should I choose the Battle Bra or the Solidarity?
Both are high-impact bras with Overband® Technology, but they suit different needs. The Battle Bra is underwired encapsulation, so it gives shaping, separation and a more structured look, and it is sized by cup and underband from 30C to 38G. The Solidarity is a wire-free high-impact bra with an adjustable Overband® and a wider C to HH cup range. Is an underwired sports bra okay for running and high impact?
Yes, when it is built for it. The Battle Bra's underwire sits in moulded, encapsulated cups and works with the Overband® rather than against you, so it holds each breast through the figure-of-eight movement your chest makes when you run. It is classed as a high-impact bra, made for running, HIIT and combat training. The wire gives shaping and separation that a wire-free bra cannot, which is why so many larger-busted runners prefer encapsulation.
What does the Overband® do?
The Overband® is a curved panel that runs over the top of the breasts and stops the upward bounce most sports bras ignore. Your chest moves in a figure of eight when you exercise, not just up and down, and the Overband® controls the upward part of that movement. Can I wear the Battle Bra as a racerback?
Yes. A hook-and-eyelet fastening at the upper back lets you switch between a straight H-back and a racerback, and the straps are adjustable. The Battle Bra also has the widest, even shoulder straps in the range, which spreads the load and helps with shoulder comfort on long sessions.

How do I wash it?
To keep it performing, machine wash at 30°C with all closures fastened, inside a MAAREE wash bag, with similar colours. Do not tumble dry, iron or dry clean. Every MAAREE bra also comes with a 90-day chafe-free guarantee when you have a fitting, so if it rubs, tell us.
What is it made from, and what colours are there?
The Battle Bra comes in Black and Plum. The body is 62% polyamide and 38% elastane for stretch and recovery, and the cups are 85% polyester and 15% elastane for shape and hold. The fabric is firmer than the Solidarity, which is part of what gives the Battle Bra its structured fit.
